The 29th Annual Grant Awards Ceremony season is upon us! North Coast grantmakers from Astoria High School, Astoria Middle School, Seaside High School, Seaside Middle School, and Warrenton High School kicked off the festivities at the Astoria Golf & Country Club on Tuesday, May 5th in Warrenton, where 100 guests came together to hear students' vision for the future. 

 to nonprofit organizations and school programs, including grants to 

"Local nonprofits are on a mission to support and change the lives of those in our community. The lives of those we see at our local grocery stores, across the street, or right next door. By getting involved with nonprofits, you can play an important role in improving the lives of those around you and strengthening your community."

We also celebrated Eastern Oregon grantmakers on Thursday, May 7th at another full-house event at the Maxwell Pavilion in Hermiston. Students from Hermiston High School, Nixyáawii Community School, Pendleton High School, Umatilla High School, and Weston-McEwen High School granted over 

 this year, awarding funds to both local organizations like 

"One of the most rewarding parts of Schnitzer Cares is seeing our direct impact. Instead of just hearing about problems, we actually get to be a part of the solution. Whether we are organizing a fundraiser or meeting with the nonprofit applicants, it feels inspiring when you can connect your efforts to real people being helped."
